Clarice Iona Armstrong, 95, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Clarice was a longtime resident of Vidor and a cherished member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was very active in her faith and community.
Clarice found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, and the lively rhythm of square dancing. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her newest great-great-grandchild, who brought her immense pride and joy.
She is survived by her children: Wally James of Houston, TX; Rose Hairston and husband Mark of Nederland, TX; and Andy Lynch of Vidor, TX; along with her son-in-law, John Davis of Mauriceville, TX.
Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren: Nicole Peters and husband Blair, Randy Hairston and wife Jennifer, Jessica Whittington and husband John O., Ashlee Amy and husband Todd, Tyler Davis and wife Carli, and Caitlin Denman and husband Bradley.
Clarice was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren: Brennah Hairston, Quinn Peters, Brody Hairston, Reagan Peters, Jaxon Whittington, Jett Whittington, Eliza Peters, Emory Amy, Jace Whittington, Cate Denman, Alistair Amy, Leighton Davis, Willow Denman, and Aspen Davis, and one great-great-grandson, Colt Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and her beloved children: Cynthia Lynch, Orlen James, and Claudia Davis.
Clarice’s life was a testament to faith, love, and the importance of family.
