Two weeks ago, the city of Orange closed the Lions Den Park wooden castle playground after an engineer said it is not safe.
Tuesday evening at 5:30, the Orange City Council will have a workshop on what to do with the playground. People will be able to give opinions and share ideas on what to do with the playground.
The city has money budgeted for parks that could be used, but not enough for the estimated $750,000 that would be needed to build a new wooden castle-style playground.
The wooden playground was a communitywide project 20 years ago. City Public Works Director Jim Wolf said that is the lifetime for wooden playgrounds in this area.
The council may vote on what to do about the park. The meeting will be in the council chambers next to the Orange Public Library.
