The city of Orange has budgeted $365,000 to line 1,400 linear feet of ditch along Clark Lane.
The Oak Creek Village area needs drainage help “really bad,” Public Works Director Jim Wolf told the city council Tuesday.
The city has budgeted $365,000 to put the lining on about 1,400 linear feet of the ditch from Clark Lane north to the Orange County Drainage District’s Dartez ditch.
The council unanimously approved hiring the Port Arthur engineering firm of Arceneaux Wilson and Cole to do a topographical study for the project. The contract, which is to be a maximum of $14,600, will include the firm locating utilities along the ditch.
Wolf said Arceneaux Wilson and Cole did the engineering work for the Cooper’s Gully concrete lining project. The city had federal hurricane recovery money from Ike to pay for that project.
