UPDATE: The suspect is identified as 38-year-old Brittany Nichole Miller of Onalaska. It was confirmed that Miller had a felony warrant out of Polk County. Miller is charged with evading in a motor vehicle, a felony offense, and other charges are likely in this case.
A chase went through Orange County Saturday and it could’ve ended much worse than it did.
Reports say Beaumont Police attempted to stop a woman for trying to cash a stolen check and she took off, heading east on I-10. Police said speeds reached well over 100mph but as she approached Orange, the eastbound lanes were once again backed up due to TxDOT construction. The woman, without braking much, took the shoulder and got around traffic without accident and headed to Louisiana.
Once in Louisiana she traveled to Sulphur, turned around and got off in Vinton, and then took US 90 back to Sulphur where Louisiana police deployed a spike strip and took out two tires. She was arrested and charged with Felony aggravated flight with more charges expected.
