From his wife, Jeanne:
“Last night at the stroke of midnight my beloved husband Charlie of 36 years passed away peacefully after his brave 5-year battle with cancer. While I have had considerable time to prepare for this, no one is truly ready to lose a loved one. Just like that you are no longer a “us” or a “we”. A team.. that you can only share your deepest secrets and feelings with.
I will never forget the day he walked into our hanger at Allegheny Co. Airport to interview for his first flying job. It was love at first sight and I hired him on the spot. The Best decision I ever made.
Our life together was a whirlwind. Every day was filled with excitement. From our moves due to job transfers, the travel, the touring with the Rock bands to finding we both had a deep passion for rescuing Collies. Everyone knows we were the absolute worst foster parents. If a dog entered our house, they never left.
I was blessed to have married the Love of my life, my Best Friend, and my “Knight in Shining Amour.”
I will miss everything about him but glad he is finally out of pain. I know in my Heart he has been reunited with Austin and all of our other 4 legged kids. I am confident he will be watching over me and will be waiting for me to join them when the time comes.”
