Charles “Chuck” Allen James, age 58 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Beaumont, Texas. Services to honor Chuck’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange, Texas. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dorman Funeral Home.
Chuck was born in Orange, Texas on December 29, 1959 to Peggy Henderson James and Chester Alfonso James III. He worked as an operations maintenance coordinator for Honeywell, formally known as Allied Signal. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed his trips to see the Astros, the Dallas Cowboys, and WOS football play. His absolute favorite thing was being a Gramps. He loved going on vacations and scuba diving and playing shuffle board. In his spare time he loved to read. During the summer, he enjoyed taking his kids crabbing. During the fall, he enjoyed dove hunting with his son, Corye, best friend, Scott Passmore, and Scott’s son-in-law, Damon Johnston. Chuck was a fantastic cook. Chuck had a heart of gold and would help anyone with anything they needed. At night, he would sit in his recliner and play candy crush. Chuck was well respected by his peers at the plant but also in his daily life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Chester A James III, his beloved dog “Delilah”, Reggie Talmage, Vernon L James, and Grandparents, Papa James and Lela Pearl DePue.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Hollye James of 33 years, two children, Corye James and Brittni Ashworth and her husband Aaron, mother Peggy James, and Grandson, Jaxson Bailey Ashworth. And the three people he thought of as brothers, Mike James and his wife Patty, Scott Passmore and his wife Vicky and Dale Henderson and his wife Vicky. As well as many other cousins, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Mike James, Scott Passmore, Damon Johnston, Carlos Suarez, Clint Fregia, Ron Harbert, Wayne Buchanan and Maetin Temtharoen.
