Members of the Orange City Council got to see what a State Championship team looks like as the Orange Youth Baseball Softball (OYBS) 8U softball team were given proclamations for their State Championship run two weeks ago in Angleton.
Mayor Larry Spears noted it was the largest crowd he’s ever seen in council chambers as proud parents, grandparents and more, sporting their new State Champ shirts, filled every seat in the auditorium .
Spears read the proclamation in their honor and had a copy for all 11 members and Head Coach Ryan Crowell.
The Orange 8U’s are the first OYBS team to win a State Title. In three tournaments they were 21-1 and outscored their opponents 376-138.
The team consists of Caydence Caples, Karson Stanley, Harper Crowell, Arlee Reeves, Navariah Garrett, Aubree Edwards, Kylee Roy, Anslee Strandberg, Shyleigh Charlot, Fynnlee Trahan, and Aspen Torbert.
