In school, in work, and in her private life, I have witnessed Raven conquering challenge after challenge, welcoming each experience as a chance to grow and learn. Raven definitely understands the value of goal setting and the importance of team work. I saw this quality firsthand in my AP US History as Raven reminds me of the story of the Little Engine That Could. Raven was determined to do well in this class and I watched her pursue excellence with dogged determination; Raven achieved her goal of earning college credit via her performance on the AP Exam last spring (Raven also earned college credit in AP English!)”
Cathy Riley, English IV AP Teacher & English Department Chair, said, “RAVEN CORMIER is absolutely one of my favorite students. She is a leader in all aspects and is the most dependable young lady I have ever encountered in my teaching career. Being Captain of the Bridge City Strutters, RAVEN leads by example as well as empowers her team members. I have given her numerous choreography and teaching assignments, and she consistently comes through for her team and me by reinforcing effective methodology. As my English III AP and now English IV AP student, Raven has proven herself as an excellent writer time and time again. She received English AP Language and Composition college credit last year and continues to produce outstanding analytical work. RAVEN demonstrates a positive influence on others as she exemplifies strong moral and rises above negative influences and pressures in everyday school situations. She is an outstanding role model for others to emulate. RAVEN CORMIER is a stellar and passionate student – She is that rare find that all educators dream of having in class. RAVEN will always have my respect and my heart.”
After graduation, Raven plans to attend the University of Texas and double major in child psychology and dance.
