
Carol Ann (Taylor) Hollingsworth, 80, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, with her beloved husband by her side. A native of Vidor, Don and Carol moved to New Mexico for four years until finally settling in Bastrop. After Don retired from Dupont in 1991, Don and Carol traveled out west before settling in New Mexico. They bought 5 acres near Silver City, NM. Their time in New Mexico were some of the best memories they made together. They truly felt peace and freedom, enjoying the beautiful, scenic area there. They lived there for four years before moving to Bastrop, TX in 1996. They bought a home which burned down in the 2011 Bastrop forest fire. After insurance help them rebuild the home, she spent the rest of her life there.
Born the youngest of six children on December 19, 1944, to Claude and Elsie Taylor, Carol grew up surrounded by the love of a close-knit family. She carried that love forward throughout her life, always cherishing time spent with her family and friends. Whether traveling to new places or riding her four-wheeler, Carol embraced life with a sense of joy and excitement.
As part of a beautiful blended family, Carol and her husband, Don, shared a legacy of love that spans generations. Together, they raised six children and were blessed with 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Don Hollingsworth, and her children: Sheri Worthing of San Antonio, Penny Shafer of Lumberton, Tina Jackson of Bridge City, Rose Cash of Vidor, and Kevin Hollingsworth of Vidor.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Claude and Elsie Taylor, her siblings, Eugene Taylor, Marion Taylor, Emma Ryder, Ruth Turner, and Dennis Taylor, her son, Randy Hollingsworth, and her grandson, Marcus Desha.
Carol’s warmth, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
