The Bridge City Cardinals were victorious over Hamshire-Fannett, 5-2 on Thursday. HF got on the board first in the second inning with two runs off of Peyton Havard, both unearned.
Cardinals responded with three runs in the third inning, two coming in on an error. They would add one run in the fifth and sixth innings.
BC won with just three hits, all three coming against HF’s Reese King, who replaced starter Jacob Garza. Those hits came from Logan Hamm, Luc Hollier, and Cameron Yadon.
Havard allowed three hits while striking out 14 and walking none for the win.

SOFTBALL
LCM traveled to Silsbee and came home with a hard fought 4-1 win in nine innings.
The Lady Bears took the 1-0 in the sixth, only to see Silsbee tie it up with a HR in the 7th to send it into extra innings. LCM would score three in the ninth for the win.
Bri Frenzel got the win, striking out 10. The Lady Bears scattered 6 hits and left 10 on base.
