Bridge City ISD is off to a strong and smooth start as the 2025-2026 school year gets underway.
Campuses welcomed back students Wednesday with smiles, high energy, and a renewed sense of pride in the district’s ongoing theme: BC represents Best in Class.
This year marks the first full school year students will benefit from the district’s new Career and Technical Education (CTE) addition. The modern facility provides expanded learning opportunities in areas such as health science, floral design, welding, and other high-demand fields, giving students more pathways to success beyond high school.
Construction continues to progress at Bridge City Middle School. A newly poured driveway connecting the back of the middle school to Bower Drive is already improving traffic flow and student safety. The upgrades are part of the district’s $72.4M bond approved by voters in 2022, which aims to modernize facilities and enhance student experiences.
Athletic facilities are also seeing significant improvements. Both the baseball and softball fields are receiving full turf upgrades. Previously, only the infields were turfed, but now the entire playing surfaces will be uniform, durable, and more weather-resistant—ensuring fair play and fewer disruptions throughout the season.
Meanwhile, fall activities are in full swing across the district. Cross country, football, volleyball, cheer, Strutters and band are already hard at work preparing for the season ahead. Coaches, directors, student-athletes, and performers are energized, and the community has plenty to look forward to this fall.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Kelly said the year is shaping up to be one of the best yet. “Our staff, students, and community have created an environment where success is possible in every area—from academics and career readiness to athletics and the arts. We’re excited about where we are, and even more excited about where we’re going and strive to be BC, Best in Class,” said Dr. Kelly.
Bridge City ISD’s steady growth, strong community support, and commitment to excellence continue to shine through as the school year begins. From new learning spaces to improved facilities, the district is proving that “Best in Class” is more than a motto—it’s a mission.
