
Three area teams had playoff games on Tuesday and all three will be playing again at the end of the week.
The Bridge City Cardinals, champions of 18-4A, overcame a rough start to beat a pesky Palestine team 66-54.
Aaden Bush went off for 37 points. Abraham Munguia had 8, Brandon Denison 6, Daxton Hodgkinson 6 and Hunter Silveira 10. The Wildcats end the season 13-16 and the Cards improve to 24-9 and will play Houston Washington in the second round. The Eagles eliminated Huffman 91-65.

The Orangefield Bobcats travelled to Tarkington on Tuesday night to take on the (17-10) Diboll Lumberjacks in the Bi-District round of the playoffs. The Bobcats battled hard to create some distance between themselves and an athletic Lumberjack squad, and a late run did just that, as they claimed the Bi-District Championship by a score of 70-49. Leading the way for Orangefield (31-3) was Jaden Scales with 22 points, and 5 assists, Carson Willis with 17 points and 4 rebounds, Rylan Agerton with 14 points and 5 rebounds, and Jaxon Agerton with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Orangefield advances to the area round of the playoffs on Friday against Hitchcock. Additional game details will be released when available.

The BC Lady Cardinals got a scare but they hold on to beat LaGrange 46-43 to advance to the fourth round.
BC had a 40-31 lead after three quarters but LaGrange (30-9) hit back to back three’s to open the fourth and outscored the Lady Cards 12-6 to make it nip and tuck until the final horn.
Aubrey Small and Kenlee Putnam had 14 each and Kennedy Campbell had 11. Putnam also had 11 rebounds.
BC (32-2) will face Madisonville for the 4AD2 Region III Championship on Thursday at 7pm at CE King HS in Houston. Madisonville (19-13) reached the final by beating Freeman 40-20.
