
The Bridge City Lady Cardinals played out standing defense behind Kassidy Wilbur in a 6-0 win over Jasper Friday night in Jasper. Wilbur, who is going to SFA, threw a one hitter while striking out eight, and walked one. The Lady Cards scored six runs on nine hits. Wilbur was 2-5, with a double, and two runs scored; Abby Anderson 1-4 with two runs scored; Kaitlin Dension 2-4 with an RBI; Kyndall Harrison 2-3 with three RBIs and a run scored; Natalie Reed 1-4 with an RBI; Ashlee Gerrald 1-4. BC will face Liberty next week in a best of three series. Details are TBD.
Hudson 4 Orangefield 3
OF took the early lead on a Kaylee Ancelot HR but Hudson responded with four runs and lead 4-1 going into the seventh. The Bobcats put their rally caps on and scored twice in the seventh to make it 4-3. But with runners at first and third, Hudson recorded the third out to advance to the second round.
