Dubois scored his second TD from 7 yds. out after a 7 play drive to make it 14-7. LCM followed with a three and out and BC RB Cayce Draper took advantage with a 67 yd TD run on first down. The Cards had a 21-7 lead with 5:47 still in the first quarter.
The high flying Cardinals started the second quarter with a Dubois to Patrick Morris TD pass from 38 to increase their lead 28-7. LCM’s Chris Winters fumbled on third down and Dubois connected with Austin Fitts on first down from 37 out to make it 35-7 with 10 minutes left in the half.
The Bears committed their third turnover of the half when they fumbled the kickoff and Ian Carruth recovered for the Birds. BC put together an 8 play drive capped off by a 10 yard run by Colt Poole to increase their lead to 42-7. LCM would end the half with a 13 play, 52 yd drive and score by King to give them a little life going into the locker room down 42-14.
But the Cardinals would pull the Bears plug on their first drive of the second half with an impressive 11 play, 70 yd drive, while taking over five minutes off the clock, and increase their lead to 49-14.
The two teams exchanged a few scores and then BC capped off their night after the Bears attempted an onside kick. The Bears were standing around the ball waiting for it to roll the necessary 10 yards when Poole ran through the ring of Bears, scooped the ball and ran it 50 yds. for their final score.
BC scored on their first seven possessions of the game and finished with 460 yds. of offense. They shared the wealth with six different players scoring, lead by their QB Dubois who ran for three scores and threw for two. Dubois was 5-5 for 134 yds. while Draper lead them on the ground with 129 yds.
The Bears Sam King was their offense with an outstanding game. He had 226 yds rushing and he accounted for all five touchdowns.
