Around 3:30pm Tuesday, there was a call of a reckless driver traveling down FM 1442 towards Bridge City.
Authorities saw the white Mazda convertible and began to follow him at speeds reportedly above the speed limit. The Mazda approached the intersection of Roundbunch and FM 408 when he struck the back corner of a dump truck. Witnesses said he spun around several times before coming to a stop near the fence in front of the Bridge City ISD bus barn.
The driver was taken to the hospital by Acadian with unknown injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not injured. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
