Captain Skip James, age 73 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas. A memorial services to honor Skip will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home with his longtime friend Chester Moore officiating. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service to share memories and fishing stories.
Skip was born in Austin, Texas on December 18, 1948 to parents, Betty and Terrell. At a very young age Skip found the true meaning of life, which was to go fishing. He was good fisherman and made a career of giving others the experience of a life time with being a Fishing Charter Captain. When Skip wasn’t catching fish, he was hunting and enjoying the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. The family always looked forward to their wonderful beach trips. Skip will be remembered by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor and his love for life.
Skip is preceded in death by his parents, Terrell James, mother Betty Hurst, step father Cy Hurst and his brother Don James.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sandy James of Orange, TX, sons; Joe James, Jr. of Orange, TX, Ned Weizenegger and his wife Ronda of MN, Sam Weizenegger and his wife Natalie of Orange, TX and Zach Wizenegger and his wife Laura of Orange, TX, brother Mark Hurst and his wife Lauren of West Palm Beach, FL, sister Lynda Saxton and her husband Mark of League City, TX, six grandchildren; Dayna Pearson, Kenyon Weizenegger, Aubree Weizenegger, Isa Weizenegger, Alysa Weizenegger and Abel Weizenegger and many wonderful friends.
