
Calvin Ray Kibodeaux,72, of Orangefield, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his home. Born on February 4, 1943 in Hackberry, Louisiana to his parents, Everett Kibodeaux, Sr. and Lucy (Burch) Kibodeaux, he lived in Orangefield for the last 41 years and he worked as an oilfield pumper in the oil industry. Calvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, working his horses and working on cars. Calvin will most fondly be remembered by his family as a hard working stern man who was very generous and good hearted.
Calvin is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian Kibodeaux; his brothers Charles Kibodeaux, Everett Kibodeaux, Jr. and Jesse “ Cannonball “ Gibbs; his sisters, Jessie O’Quinn, Patsy Wolford and Thelma Jo Gibbs and his stepson, Victor “ Dupree “ Brown. Those who will most cherish his memory are his daughter, Lucy Kibodeaux of Orange, his son, Charles Kibodeaux of Orange, his daughter, Janise Mosley and husband, John of Bridge City, his daughter, Janie Smith of Orange: his son, Casey Brown and wife, Shelly of Orange and his son, Ernest Brown of Orange; his sisters, Kathy Simon of Hackberry, Denise Kibodeaux of Sulphur, Dora Ordonez of Orange, Naomi Sneed of Bridge City, Donna “ Tiny “ Marcom of Orange, Lilly Wold of Orange, Russie Attaway of Orange, Frances Boutte of Orange and Velma Suchanek of Fields, Louisiana; his brothers, Carl Dean Kibodeaux of Nevada, James “ Tooter “ Gibbs of Hackberry, Don “ Tommy “ Gibbs of Vidor, Russell Gibbs of Orangefield and Delancy Delious Gibbs of Orangefield; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Calvin is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Graveside services for Calvin will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange with Mr. Kenneth Smith, officiating. Interment will follow services where he will be laid to rest next to his wife. A gathering of Calvin’s family and friends will be from 11:00 A. M. until 12:00 P.M. Thursday at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Pallbearers will be Rodney Brown, Robert Smith, Russell Smith, John Mosley, Christopher Cockerham and George Kibodeaux.
