
The Orange Police Department is investigating a burglary of a business that occurred Friday. Officer Tim Pruitt was dispatched to McCoy’s Building Supply off the service road of Interstate 10 West at shortly before 10:00 AM Friday.
Pruitt spoke with the store’s manager David Meaux who advised the officer that the store was closed at about 6:30 PM on Thursday. Upon returning to the store on Friday at 6:15 AM Meaux discovered the business had been burglarized.
The perpetrator cut a hole in the side of the building to gain entry. Taken was 1,000 feet of thin standard wire valued at $500.

On Saturday two neighbors in the 2200 of Coronado had a verbal argument. The neighbors reportedly have had issues with each other for a long time.
Orange Police Officer Jason Guidroz was dispatched to the neighborhood in reference to a Class C Simple Assault. One of the neighbors stated to Guidroz that the other neighbor swung a hammer at him striking a wooden fence causing a piece of wood to break off and strike him in the lower chest. The injury left a red welt, but was not serious.
