Jack Burke, a sophomore at Little Cypress-Mauriceville, battled wind, rain, and 75 other golfers to win the 4A State Golf Title Tuesday with rounds of 71-70 (141).
Burke won the title by two strokes over Logan Diomede of Argyle and three strokes over third place medalist Miller Harris of Carthage.
The Bears as a team finished twelfth with a total of 673. Wyatt Wozniak (91-82), Mason Sterling (96-85), Jack Tindel III (88-90), and Travis Love (101-106).
Monahans won the team title with a total of 608. Argyle was second at 628 and Gatesville third with a 639 total.
The Tournament was held at Plum Creek GC in Kyle, Texas.
