
A car burglary was reported in the Sunset Grove Country Club area late Wednesday night and at least one more was reported in the same area.
Orange police report finding fingerprints on tape that was holding a cover over a broken window. The burglary was reported at 11:55 p.m. from the Sunset Apartments.
Police reported the car had a broken back passenger window and it was covered. The thief used something to melt a small part of the tape so it could be pulled back to get inside.
Dozens of vehicle burglaries have been reported in Orange during the past two months. Nearly all of them have been in the Little Cypress area, with many in subdivisions off Meeks Drive.
Bridge City also has had numerous vehicle burglaries and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has investigated similar thefts around Orangefield and Vidor. Many of the vehicles had been left unlocked.
