For the first time in his 15 year career, Bridge City graduate Matt Bryant made the Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in points this season.
But on Sunday, his Falcons beat Green Bay 44-21 in the NFC Championship to advance to the Super Bowl in Houston Feb. 5.
The Super Bowl appearance will keep Bryant from playing on the NFC team in the Pro Bowl this week in Orlando. He’s expected to be replaced by Detroit’s Matt Prater on the roster.
If you have to give up your spot at the Pro Bowl, playing in Super Bowl 51 is not a bad exchange.
Good luck Matt!
