
Bruce “Wayne” Mayfield, 80, of Vinton, Louisiana, passed away on May 4, 2025, at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 15, 1945, he was the son of Andrew Benjamin Mayfield and Lula Pearl Oliver Mayfield. Wayne dedicated much of his life to his work as an electrician for PPG Industries, where he served faithfully for 35 years and was a proud Union member of for over 20 years, showcasing his commitment to his profession and his fellow workers. Wayne was known for his remarkable personality. A true jack of all trades, he had the ability to fix anything and was recognized for his intelligence and friendly nature. He never met a stranger, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile with those he encountered. He also served in the United States Army Reserves, exemplifying his dedication to serving his country. Wayne’s legacy of kindness, skills, and service will be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves a mark on our hearts, and he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lula Mayfield; three sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife Debbie Bradley; children, Kathy McNeil and husband James, Kim Porter, Telitta Bradley and wife Deńe, Vanessa Bradley, Joshua Cole and wife Shelby, and George Haynes and wife Selena; grandchildren, Allen McNeil and wife Amanda, Aaron McNeil and wife Natalie, Amber McNeil, Trevor Thompson, Hayli Martin and husband Damon, Dyllon Porter, Camilo Sanchez, Shae Bradley, Shaelynn Haynes, Adalynn Cole, Joshua Cole, Jr., Kasin Cole, Juinto Sanchez, Jr., Alina Sanchez, and Lilly Sanchez; nine great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, David Mayfield and wife; sister-in-law, Mary Mayfield; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Allen McNeil, Aaron McNeil, Trevor Thompson, Damon Martin, Dyllon Porter, Joshua Cole, and George Haynes.
