Phase Two of Texas going back to work following the Coronavirus pandemic begins Monday, May 18 and Mark Bland couldn’t be any happier.
The owner of Body Workz off of MacArthur Drive says the gym will be open seven days a week from 4am until 10pm.
“We have spent the last 8 weeks cleaning, sanitizing, painting, recovering equipment. I didn’t lay any employee off. They continued to work on getting our facilities ready to reopen,” he said. “We froze every membership so no one will lose any money or lose any time on their membership.”
“We will follow Governor Abbott’s guidelines for our type of business. Hand sanitizer and gym wipes will be available for each member. We will continue to clean equipment daily. I have purchased an Electrostatic Mister that will apply an Antibacterial mist to the entire gym. Nearly all of our Machines are between 6 to 8 feet apart so social distancing will be followed. As of now our Cardio Equipment will have to be monitored to only allow every other Machine to be used.”
Bland also said his classes would resume as usual as they can handle about 30 in a class using the six feet apart measurement.
“In 35 years this has been the most challenging thing we’ve ever faced,” Bland said. “So we look forward to having our Body Workz family back.”
