The Orangefield Lady Bobcats are bi-district champions after a game two win over the Central Heights Blue Devils 13-2 Saturday in Jasper.
Charlee Sanches threw a complete game giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits, 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. After her performance in relief of Abigail Curphy in Game One, Coach Rebekah Ragdale said, “I changed my mind several times because Curphy and Charlee have been a good 1-2 punch, but Charlee deserved that start and she came through.”
There were also a couple of great plays and catches on a windy day in the outfield by sisters Paris and Hallee Becker. “This is one of our strongest outfields we’ve had,” Ragsdale said. “And we’re glad to have them out there along with Haylee Spears.”
Offensively the Lady Bobcats tallied 11 hits and 5 extra base hits. Aubree Beck led the offense 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Abigail Curphey added 2 hits, including a double with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Charlee Sanches added 2 doubles, a walk, an RBI, and 2 runs scored. Alysen Vincent had 2 singles, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Paris Becker had a hit, a run scored, and several run saving catches in left field. Hallee Becker added two hits and a run scored.
