The Orangefield Bobcat Freshmen and JV teams competed in the Legacy Tennis Tournament in Beaumont yesterday.
After a foggy start to play, the sun came out, and 11 of 13 Bobcats won to open the day and advance into the main draw.
The day saw one doubles team make the quarterfinals, four athletes advance to the semifinals, three compete in the finals, and two secure consolation wins.
The JV Girls Doubles team of Zoey Harvey and Ella Sanders lost in the quarterfinals after winning their first matches.
In Girls Singles, Kenli Vacek and Harper Hunt advanced to the semifinals, while Cooper Dorman did the same on the men’s side.
Freshmen Kinlee Harris and Alayna Perez dropped into the consolation bracket, but fought back to secure a medal.
The JV Boys Doubles team of Reese Dearing and Gunnar Griffin along with Brycen Amy JV Singles reached the finals in their draws.
