After two weeks off between their spring break and weather shutting down and last Friday’s tournament, the Orangefield Bobcat Varsity Tennis team took to the courts in Beaumont to compete in the Ms. Sheila Invitational.
The tournament, consisting of 23 area teams, was spread out over three sites between the Beaumont Tennis Center, Lamar University, and West Brook High School.
Orangefield had another tremendous showing with 13 of their 14 contestants advancing into the main draw to begin play.
Those making it to the “Final Four” were: Brycen Amy and Leland Conley in Boys A Doubles, Ava Walker and Adam Tsan in Mixed A Doubles, and Olivia Smith in Girls B Singles.
The best performances of the day were turned in by the doubles team of Izzy Mills and Emily Szakmeister who advanced to the finals in Girls B Singles before dropping a tough match to a strong PNG team.
