The new Burger King restaurant in Pinehurst is open for business. The restaurant company conducted a soft opening Thursday, but word got out quickly of the eating establishment now serving up the flamed broiled hamburgers. Regional supervisor with Burger King Hassan Ahmad said the restaurant will have 45 employees, and everyone is welcome to the restaurant. Eating inside the restaurant will be available during regular hours from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The drive through window will be open 24 hours a day.
The Orange County area once had several Burger Kings and all but the one in Vidor abruptly closed many years ago. There’s also one in nearby Sulphur.
Sampling the food at the new restaurant shortly after its opening were Pinehurst Mayor Pete Runnels, City Administrator Robbie Hood, Public Works Director John Toney, Justin Trahan, and Charles Spain with the City of Pinehurst. The Burger King is located on MacArthur Drive adjacent to the old Sears store parking lot.
