BILL WILLLIAMSON
January 29, 1946—June 11, 2025
Bill’s proudest achievement was his 21 years of active-duty service to his country. He enlisted in the Army in 1965 and went directly to Vietnam, training as a door gunner on Huey helicopters. After being shot and recovering, Bill resumed his duty on the Huey, and several months later, went down with his chopper crew. For his 14 years in the Army, Bill received Vietnam service medals, air medals, and a Purple Heart.1
Well-acquainted with service on land, Bill decided to venture out to sea, joining the Navy in 1980. He left the Navy in 1986 to pursue his vocation of free-lance photography. Bill’s major focus was wedding photography, but he enjoyed taking pictures of landscapes and historic structures. He assembled his nature photographs in a book and published yearly calendars featuring his photographs.
Bill was a faithful member of the Lutcher Stark High School Class of 1964, a generous friend, a loyal patriot. At ease, Bill. And thank you for your service.
