Game Two for the LCM Lady Bears was a little more dramatic than their 11-1 win in Game One. Down 5-3 going into the seventh, Jacelyn Cook doubles to score Abby Sepulvado and Eden Frenzel to tie the game. Keylie Washburn singled to send Cook to third and then Tessa Erickson single to score Cook and give the
Bears the go ahead 6-5 lead. But the drama didn’t end there.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Livingston had runners at second and third with two outs. The runner at third tried stealing home and was tagged out by pitcher Erickson to end the game.
Cook had a monster series. She was 3-4 with 2RBI’s and 2 runs scored in Game Two and 6-8 with 6RBI’s and 4 runs scored in the sweep.
Ava Wright also had a big game going 2-3 with her first HR of the season and made some great plays in the outfield. Erickson replaced Ella Stephenson, pitching the last four innings without giving up a run on three hits.
LCM will play Gilmer in the second round. Gilmer defeated Rusk in two games.
