EAST CHAMBERS – The LCM Lady Bears are in the third round of the 4AD1 playoffs after a come from behind 53-39 win over Huffman.
The Falcons (15-19) lead 22-16 at the half as the Bears had trouble finding the net. Senior star Keylie Washburn wasn’t getting any good looks but she got things going in the second half and the rest of the team followed as they scored more points in the third (17) than they did in the first half and took a 33-29 lead.
“That’s the make up of our team,” said first year Coach Carmichael Wiley. “They don’t get too down and they find a way. I feel like we’re peaking at the right time.”
Washburn had 17 points and Maya Meadows had 15. Mallory Russell and Taylor Huckaby each chipped in 6 points. Tess Taylor (#3) lead Huffman with 18.
LCM will play China Spring, who defeated Almeta Crawford 58-57. They will play Monday at 6pm at Waller HS.
