It has taken a long time to get filters on the water wells in Bridge City. As of this month the city now has water filters on all its wells.
Delays imposed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality frustrated efforts by Bridge City to install water filters in the city’s water wells. The Romero Well was the last one to receive a filter after repairs were made to it during the last year.
City Manager Jerry Jones is glad to have the Romero Well functioning one hundred percent. The well has been operational for about a week and the city has finished the testing of the filter. “All three of the wells have filters operational now,” Jones stated.
The filters have been installed in the water wells to curtail the sentiment in the water. Those sentiments had been partly responsible for the brown water that has been a problem in Bridge City.
