
Bridge City boys soccer team defeated HJ 7-0 on Tuesday night at home to open district. Scoring goals for BC was Oscar Carranza(2), Camden Perry(2), Kaide Mills, Chandler Pachuca, and Albert Mungia. Defensive standouts were Jaylen Jones, Preston Peterson, Kobe Bailey and others. BC will take on Hamshire Fannett at 5pm Friday in Hamshire.
The Lady Cardinals opened district play against the Hardin Jefferson Lady Hawks on Tuesday. The Boswell sisters started the scoring off for the the Cards with Jill putting a point on the board off of Hallie’s assist, bringing the score to 1-0. Hardin Jefferson then went on a 3 goal streak to bring the score to 1-3 going into halftime. The Cardinals were not done yet though, and came out the second half on fire. Hannah Silveira had a beautiful goal off of a Jill Boswell assist. Breanna Molin followed it up with a goal from Hannah Silveira’s assist. The Lady Cards forced overtime with the Lady Hawks at the end of regulation with the score sitting at 3-3. After two halves of overtime the Lady Cards came up short and took a 3-4 loss. The Lady Cards will travel to Hamshire Fannett on Friday to face the Lady Horns at 7pm.
