A 29-year-old Bridge City man is going to prison for 25 years for the aggravated sexual assault of a 2-year-old girl. A jury last week found Alan Edward Miller guilty and assessed the punishment. Assistant Orange County District Attorney Tom Kelley said the charge is termed “super aggravated” because the child was younger than 6 years of age. He said the assault was on March 22, 2014. The child, who is a relative of Miller, was taken to an area hospital. The nurses saw the signs of a sexual assault and contacted the Bridge City Police Department. Kelley praised Bridge City police officers Danny Hodges, Robert Bergeron and Brittany Hilton for putting together the evidence and their handling of the case. The trial was held before 260th State District Judge Buddie Hahn.
