On Tuesday the Bridge City Cardinals were up 1-0 and were leading 9-1 in the second game against the LCM Lady Bears when the power at LCM’s gym cut off due to a problem with a transformer.
So the two teams and their fans showed up Wednesday afternoon to finish the match and BC finished off LCM pretty quickly in Game Two 25-15 and it looked like the Cards were headed for another district game sweep.
But the Bears got inspired and were making some incredible saves as they went on to win the next two sets (27-25, 25-15) to force a Game 5.
But the Lady Cards would get out to a lead in the final set while the Bears appeared spent after their big comeback, and BC would win the set 15-6 and the match to improve 2-0 in district. LCM falls to 0-1.
For the Cards,
Demi Carter had 24 kills, 12 aces and 13 digs; Anna Kelly had 21 kills, 3 aces and 6 digs; Taryn Doiron 11 kills, 7 digs, 33 assists; Cambree LaComb 23 assists 3 digs; Makenna Knight 6 kills, 2 aces, and 5 digs.
On Friday BC will be off and LCM will travel to Vidor.
