The Bridge City High School cheerleaders recently competed at the UIL Spirit State Championship in Forth Worth, TX . After competing Wednesday in the three separate categories of Sideline Dance, Crowd-Leading Cheer, and School Fight Song, the squad made the finals, ending the day ranked 10th out of 80 4-A schools. Day 2 was a compilation of Day 1 performances in addition to a game-specific offense/defense cheer prompted by a “game” announcer. The squad finished 7th. Squad members are: Maddie Thibodeaux (head cheerleader), Ashton Bonin, Kayleigh Collier, Carlee Dearing, Abby Faulk, Alyssa Fukuda, Hope Hill, Taylor Trevino, Alexis Bertrand (Big Red mascot), Shania Dies, Kaylene Droddy, Mackenzie Land, Mackenzie Murdock, Jacelynn Price, Nicole Smith, Tori Bertrand, Taylor Fountain, Makenzie Martin, Maddie Price, and Shelbi Whitaker. The cheerleaders are coached by Michelle Huff and Valrie Gilbeaux.
