Barbara Sue Rutledge, born on March 15, 1949, in Beaumont, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Port Neches, Texas.
She was a proud graduate of Vidor High School. Barbara found her greatest joy in being a grandmother, affectionately known as “nana.” Nothing could brighten her smile more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was immensely proud of all their accomplishments and relished the moments when her family came together to celebrate holidays and special occasions. Her love for plants was unmatched; she could share insights about them with anyone who asked. Barbara cherished the outdoors and enjoyed the simple pleasures of nature. In her downtime, she was often found reading a good book or flipping through soap opera magazines while enjoying a diet coke. Her passion for football was well known, especially her admiration for the Manning boys. Saturdays and Sundays were her favorite days, filled with excitement as she discussed games at length. Her warmth, laughter, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Barbara leaves behind her loving family, including her children Odis Rutledge and wife Debbie, Stacey Terrell and husband Darren, Tracey Burris, and Carey Brammer and husband Ben. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory. She has 2 dogs she leaves behind that were a huge part of her, Bear and Kitty. They were always at her side.
Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Aline Copeland.
