Babin Visits KOGT

November 3, 2015

The most important issue facing the U.S. House of Representatives today is putting a Republican in the White House and not Hilary Clinton, Congressman Brian Babin said on KOGT Tuesday morning.
The man who represents Orange County and the 36th Texas Congressional District conducted a telephone interview with Gary Stelly. Stelly asked about Babin’s support for Paul Ryan to become speaker of the house.
“I think Mr. Ryan is going to be a unifying force,” Babin, a Republican, said. He was going to support Daniel Webster for speaker, but Webster told him he was not going to “put his name in the hat.”
“If the U.S. House does not unify, we are going to end up with Hilary,” he said.
Babin said he has disagreed with Ryan on immigration, but he talked to the new speaker and was assured the subject would not come up until after President Obama is out of office.
People living in the 36th District are nervous and apprehensive about immigration, refugees and national security, the congressman said. The United Nations is sending refugees to the U.S. and they are settling across the country, he said. The refugees collect welfare and put burdens on schools, communities and law enforcement, he said. In Europe, refugees have set up areas where even the local law enforcement is not allowed to go, he said. “No Go Zones” are in cities like Paris, Amsterdam and London, he said.
According to Babin, the FBI director says the agency can’t check the refugees properly to see if they could be terrorists. In July, he introduced H.R. 3314, the Resettlement Accountability National Security Act to “push the pause button” on bringing in refugees.
Babin concluded by saying he is still supporting Ted Cruz for President.
