Monday was an unusually busy day for thieves taking vehicles. Orange police took reports on a stolen Honda motorbike, a stolen Hummer and a stolen pickup truck.
A resident living in the 1200 block of Pine Avenue in the Old Orange Historic District called at 1:20 a.m. to report a 2016 Honda CR-v 1000 sport motorbike was stolen from his carport. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the bike has not been recovered.
About 9 a.m., the 2007 Hummer was reported stolen from a law office at 205 Border Street, across from the Orange County Jail. The keys had been left inside. The SUV was recovered in Calcasieu Parish through the OnStar system and returned to the owner.
At 4:50 p.m., a man living in the 2100 block of Eddlemon Road in the Little Cypress area reported a 2003 black Dodge Ram 1500 had been stolen from his driveway while he was at work. Captain Enmon said the truck has a dual chrome hood scoop and the Texas license number is AS59314.
Anyone with information about the stolen motorbike and pickup should call the Orange Police Department at 883-1026.
Also, Monday, the burglary of a vehicle was reported at 8:19 a.m. in the 3100 block of 23rd Street in the Northmont area.
In addition, a window was reported broken at the office of dentist Dr. Nina Leifeste, 1509 Burton Avenue. The damage was reported at 8:43 a.m. Monday. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said investigators are going through surveillance video.
