The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating an auto-pedestrian crash in Vidor from Wednesday night. Sergeant Stephanie Davis with the DPS reports the crash occurred about 8:30 Wednesday night just north of FM 1132. Initial reports indicate that a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo was traveling southbound on FM 105 when as it came around a curve in the road the vehicle struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the road. The pedestrian Alesha Smith, age 27, of Vidor was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries. As of Thursday afternoon, Smith is listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. The driver of the Isuzu, Pamela Stanley, age 57, of Vidor was not injured in the crash.
