An 80-year-old Little Cypress woman is hoping to get the ashes of her daughter and husband back. The ashes, one set in a green and blue urn similar to the colors above, and the other in a brown square container, were sold at a moving sale when the woman was in intensive care at an out-of-town hospital.
The garage sale was three or four weekends ago at 8129 Canterbury Drive in the Country Squire subdivision off Highway 87 North.
Carol Franklin said Tuesday morning she is moving and her realtor recommended a woman to help coordinate a sale for the belongings she was not going to take. Before the sale, Franklin had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital. While she was in ICU, the woman had the sale without Franklin overseeing the items.
She said her daughter died in 2002 at the age of 51 and was in the large urn. Her husband’s ashes were in the container as she looked for an appropriate urn.
Anyone with the ashes, or anyone who knows where they might be, should contact Franklin at 746-3358, or 221-5516.
