Orange Police have arrested 21 year old Clifton (Bubba) Hawthorne (left) and 17 year old Davion Tyreese Riggs and charged them with the capital murder of 17 year old Trey Gibson. Both were taken into custody without incident.
On April 4, 2020 OPD received a report of a shooting victim at 1321 16th St., Exceptional ER. Officers arrived and discovered Gibson with a gunshot to his chest. The victim was pronounced deceased by Judge Price.
The shooting happened inside the fence at the James Zay Roberts Apartments at 610 Burton Ave.
Gibson along with a 22-year-old man who was driving, and another 17-year-old male in the back seat, went to the Arthur Robinson Apartments at 605 Burton Avenue about 1pm Saturday afternoon.
Two men approached them with one of them shooting Gibson and then leaving the scene. He was then transported by vehicle to Exceptional ER.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said Gibson has had different addresses including some in the Port Arthur area. The driver of the car is from the Orange area.
