Vidor police have arrested a 19-year-old on a murder indictment in connection with the July Fourth shooting death of a Vidor man.
An Orange County grand jury Wednesday indicted Keenan LeDoux of Vidor for murder and he is now in the county jail on a $100,000 bond.
Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll said 46-year-old Gregory Paul Goldsmith was shot to death about 8:17 p.m. July Fourth at a house in the 100 block of Carla Street. At the time, Carroll said the shooting appeared to stem from a family dispute and the shooter was cooperating.
Thursday, he said LeDoux is the boyfriend of Goldsmith’s step-daughter.
Goldsmith was treated by Acadian Ambulance Service, but died before being taken to a hospital. Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose Simonton declared him dead at the scene.
