Most of the Orange area received an average of an inch of rain Wednesday afternoon causing some minor flooding and possibly a few accidents.
A female officer with the Orange Police Dept. said she hydroplaned on Hwy. 87 north just past the Northway Shopping Center at approximately 3:15pm. She left the road on the east side and ended up in the woods near the railroad that runs parallel to the road. She walked away without serious injury.
A little later in the afternoon an 18 wheeler became disabled while traveling on I10 near the Waffle House. A Ford F-150 slid into the back of the rig. The driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
A 50% chance of rain is expected on Thursday.
