College- Praire View A&M, Cheniere Business School Moved to Brooklyn New York where she met and married the love of her life James L. Battles Sr.
Later relocated back to her hometown where she became a caregiver to her grandmother, a teacher’s aide, and bus driver for WOCCISD Dedicated and Devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church On Dec 10, 2024 Anita’s life journey of 73 blessed and beautiful years ended with the Lord Preceded in death by her husband, James L. Battles Sr, son James L. Battles Jr, parents Samuel A. Rhodes Jr. and Ella Mae Peters Rhodes, grandmother Gertrude Rhodes, brothers Frederick Rhodes, Sam Rhodes, James Roland Rhodes, and sister ElDoris Rhodes Idlebird.
Anita leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories, her 4 brothers, Homer Rhodes(Mary) Elton Rhodes(Ruthetta), Richard Rhodes(Dorothy), and Leroy Jordan, one sister Deborah Rhodes Slaughter(Troy), sister n laws Evelyna Rhodes and Mabel Rhodes, son Joshua Battles(Chat), daughters Melissa Battles Vasquez(Carlos), Osha Papillion, and Alishia Battles, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, with a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends Sent from my iPhone
