The Milwaukee Brewers have recalled RHP Easton McGee from Triple-A Nashville, optioning Grant Anderson back to Nashville to open up the active roster spot.
According to a statement from the Brewers, Anderson, 27, was acquired in January for prospect Mason Molina after being DFA’d by the Rangers. He got off to an inauspicious start to the year, allowing four runs in his first 4 2⁄3 innings (7.71 ERA), but he quickly settled in, allowing no earned runs in his next six outings. After his ERA hit a season-low 2.57 in early May, he gave up a run in his next three outings before once again settling down to close out the month with a 2.76 ERA. In three June appearances against the Reds, Padres, and Braves, he’s allowed five runs in just 3 1⁄3 innings, including three runs in Monday night’s loss as he threw 42 pitches.
He’ll look to get right in Nashville, as the move also allows the Brewers to have a fresh arm in McGee.
