Alvin Judson Haley, 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Stonebridge Assisted Living in Sulphur, Louisiana. Services to honor Alvin’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Dorman Funeral Home; Bishop Arringgon officiating. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM before the service on Monday. Alvin will be laid to rest beside his wife Nelda, at 3:00 PM, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Darbun Morman Cemetery, in Darbun, Mississippi.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry Haley, son Keith Haley and wife Liz, grandchildren; Tiffany Turner and husband Shelby, Cory Moreau and wife Holley and Lindsey Bryan and husband Blake, Blake Haley, Anna Haley and Bryce Haley, great grandchildren; Greyson Moreau, Baylor Turner, Hampton Moreau, Fisher Moreau, Jasper Bryan, Shepard Bryan, Autumn Bryan and twin girls due in December, sister Anita Dunaway and brother Johnny Haley and wife Lori.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Nelda Lindsey Haley, brothers, Carl Dean Haley, Jerry Wayne Haley and parents.
He was born June 18, 1935 in Corsicana, Texas to Carl Judson Haley and Fay Ragan Haley. Alvin was a member of the Army National Guard where he retired a full Colonel and also retired from DuPont Sabine River Works after 35 years of service. He was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Orange. He served as president of the Orange football little league for many years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Haley, Blake Haley, Bryce Haley, Cory Moreau, Blake Bryan and Shelby Turner. Honorary pallbearer, Greyson Moreau.
