We started to say this was one of the toughest years to pick an All-KOGT Softball Team but actually it’s tough every time we put one together because of the talent we have in the area. So congratulations to all that made the team.
It may be the first time we’ve ever had an MVP that is also a freshman. Orangefield’s Teal Kibodeaux was dominant on the mound and at the plate. She struck out almost 280 batters while posting a 1.12 ERA and she hit .400 with 32 RBI’s for the Lady Bobcats and lead them to a school record 33 wins.
As for our other superlatives, we’re going to miss Lexis Moss and her bat. What a year! She hit .480 with 16 HR’s and 63 RBI’s for the Lady Bears while teammate Eden Frenzel was smooth with the glove and the bat, hitting an incredible .549. Orangefield’s Charlee Sanches carried the offense with a .400 avg. and hit 10 HR’s and drove in 47 while playing several positions in the infield and pitching for the Lady Bobcats. Freshman Kaitlyn Juneau of Bridge City hit .350 in her first season on varsity to go along with a .500 OBP, 17 RBI’s, nine extra base hits and 10 stolen bases.
As always thanks to the coaches for their assistance with the All-KOGT Team.
