Orangefield, Bridge City, Vidor, and the LCM Softball team joined the Lady Bobcats in the next round of the playoffs Saturday.
Bridge City got the day started with a 3-1 win over Splendora to win the series 2-0. Aidyn Mulhollan pitched five strong innings giving up no runs on 3 hits and JS Bearden pitched the final two innings for the save.
The game was scoreless until the fourth when Justin Abate hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Bearden. And then in the sixth, it was Bearden with the big hit that drove in John Van Huis and Chasse Goodwin.
Bearden finished 2-3 with 2RBI. VanHuis, Abate, Braylen Collins, Hutch Bearden, and Hunter Ford also collected hits. The Cards will face Lufkin Hudson, who defeated Henderson 3-0, 6-0. It will be a best of 3 in Jasper Thursday 7pm, Friday 7pm, If necessary Saturday 4pm.

The Vidor Pirates scored six in the first and held off a late rally by the Hawks to beat Hardin-Jefferson 10-6 to advance to the second round where they will play Bullard, who beat Kilgore in two straight.
Aiden Sims got the complete game pitching victory and went 3-3 with an RBI at the plate. D Venable, L Bailey and Logan Morris collected 2RBI each on the day.

Orangefield coasted into the second round with a 13-3 win over Central to sweep the series. The Bobcats got started early with 9 runs in the first. But they would have to score two in the fifth to end the game early.
The Bobcats collected 12 hits, two each for Kane Smith, L Cheek, Morgan Sampson, Russ Traxler, and C Fountain. Kyle Michael also had a 3 run double.
Jason Bodin started and pitched the first three innings, striking out 5 and giving up 2runs. Garrett Rawls and C Myers each pitched an inning. The Bobcats will face Brazos, who beat Onalaska, in the second round.

The LCM Lady Bears chipped away at Carthage in Gm. 2 of their series and then exploded in the sixth with six runs to end the game early with an 11-1 win.
Once again the Bears’ bats were hot as six of the nine starters had two hits. Ansley Moore added a triple and 3RBI.
Tessa Erickson pitched the first two innings and Ella Stephenson threw the final four. LCM will face Liberty next week in the third round.
