The Texas A&M Aggies are two wins away from claiming their first College World Series championship.
The Aggies capped off a dominant 3-0 run Wednesday, eliminating the Florida Gators, 6-0. Tennessee topped Florida State 7-2 to advance to the final series for the first time since 1951.
Tennessee and Texas A&M played once this season. The Vols won 7-4 in the SEC Tournament.
Vols coach Tony Vitello was an assistant coach on Texas A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle’s staff when they were at TCU 2011-13.
It is the third time in the past three seasons that two SEC teams will play for the national championship and the matchup means an SEC team will be the champions for a fifth straight season.
