
The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on state Highway 62, south of Farm-to-Market Road 1130, that occurred Sunday, July 6, 2025.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 9:25 p.m., a 2016 Honda Accord was traveling south, while a 2020 Buick SUV was traveling north. It is reported that the Honda traveled into the oncoming lane and struck the Buick head-on.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 36-year-old Joseph Guillory of Houston, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace. His passenger, 22-year-old Marrhonnda Locks of Orange, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Buick, identified as 50-year-old Jason Williams of Manor, and one passenger, 54-year-old Shylon McCarver of Newton, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
This investigation remains ongoing, and no further information is available.

One man lost his life Sunday after a head on collision on Hwy. 62 in Mauriceville.
First responders got the call around 9:15pm of the accident in the 10000 block of Hwy. 62 which is near Mauriceville Tire.
A dark colored Honda Accord was traveling south when it collided head on with a white northbound SUV. Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose-Simonton pronounced the 36 year old male driver of the Accord, deceased at the scene. He had a female passenger that was listed in stable condition.
The two people in the SUV were also reported to be in stable condition.
The road was closed for more than three hours. The OC Sheriff’s Dept., OCESD4 and Acadian responded. Texas DPS is investigation and the judge ordered an autopsy.
